My Fall 2007 TV Viewing Schedule
Okay, a couple of notes here first. First of all, a couple of years ago I rarely ever watched TV. That was just one symptom of a number of symptoms which were attached to a much larger problem: Taking Life Too Seriously. Very often I find myself surrounded by people who are either apologetic about their TV viewing or whom talk about how there are so many better things to do rather than watch TV. There are a ton of better things to do, but you know, of all those things, I've never found that watching TV got in the way of doing those things. I'm sick of the anti-TV snobs. I get it, you think it says something about you and you're playing the "saying something about you game". Great for you. Boring to be around you...
I love TV, for one, I want to be distracted from my problems. Real life has real problems. I want to forget about my problems and get sucked into imaginary problems for an hour. I want to care about something which has no consequence to my life. That's a great reason to watch TV. Another great reason is because TV is really really good now. It's not the 80s or the 90s anymore. The bar has been raised, our generation is the creative generation. TV doesn't dull the mind for us, it challenges us to kick ass!
Okay, that said, this is what I'm watching. Keep in mind that I rarely watch TV when it's on anymore. My kids rarely let me watch when shows are actually on, besides some of my favorite shows are on at the same time. I used to use iTunes but it takes a day and it started to get costly plus they wouldn't let me burn to DVDs so mainly I download file sharing links that I find on the internet. I know that most of these shows count are available on the network websites but I hate streaming, I'd much rather watch effortlessly an AVI file. So you can count me out of the advertising budget, my vote doesn't count. Oh, I don't have cable and even though downloading TV is free, I don't have oh so much time that I'll test everything.
MY Must See Download TV - These are shows that if I miss the airing I will make sure to download every week.
Desperate Housewives
Heroes
Gossip Girl
Bionic Woman
The Office
Gray's Anatomy
My Name Is Earl
My Casual List - These are shows that I always enjoy and often watch when they are on, but don't go out of my way to view.
Brothers and Sisters
Private Practice
30 Rock
Oh, and of course I am eagerly awaiting the return of Lost this winter!
Okay, you got my recommendations, now waste a little life guilt free...
